Old Girls’ and PA’s Pre-Christmas Tipple

The Mayor of Bolton and Old Girl, Barbara Ronson, attended the pre-Christmas Wine Tasting Evening, held in the Arts Centre at Bolton School.

The evening was organised by the Old Girls' Association and the Girls' Division Parents’ Association with the help of T Wright Fine Wine & Spirit Merchants from Horwich.  The audience was made up of Old Girls, parents, governors, teachers, and support staff who, over a three hour period, enjoyed a range of fine wines supplied by over 15 wine merchants.  There were some excellent wines to be tasted and many pre-Christmas orders were placed.

There were significant donations from local companies, including Greenhalghs, Dunsters and Nigel Hallows, and guests were kept nourished through a selection of cheeses, bread, biscuits, olives and pates.  Flowers were provided by Leslie’s Flowers of Horwich.

All money raised from the sale of tickets for the event and the raffle went to the charity North-West Air Ambulance who were represented on the night by Mr David Hayes and to the School's Open Door Bursary Fund.
