“A Truly Remarkable Achievement” as Student Sets New Schools’ Swimming Records

Daniel Sliwinski, a Year 13 pupil at Bolton School Boys' Division, has set three new British Schools' swimming records.  Daniel helped England to victory in the recent WISE (Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England) Internationals, held at Crawley Swimming Club on 8 March.

Daniel picked up four gold awards for himself and the England team, creating three new records along the way.  He set a new 100m breaststroke record of 1.03.33, a new 200m breaststroke record of 2.19.92 and a new 200m individual medley record of 2.07.92.

Commenting on Daniel’s achievement, Chris Fox, Division 7 Representative and President of the English Schools’ Swimming Association, said Daniel’s feat was "a truly remarkable achievement.”

Another Bolton School pupil, Emma Saunders from Year 9 of the Girls’ Division also swam for England and won 2 gold medals in the 4 x 100m freestyle and medley relays as well as an individual silver medal in the 100m freestyle race.
