Bolton School boys to be published

Twenty three Year 7 pupils from Bolton School Boys' Division are to be published in a Young Writers' Mini SAGAS creative writing book series.

Pupils were asked to write a mini saga on any theme that inspired them and the best pieces were selected for publication based on perception, imagination, expression, good use of language and completing the difficult task of writing an effective story in less than 50 words.

Pupil Ashfaq Emritte said: "I am very proud to have my work published.  It was quite a difficult challenge but great fun and I really enjoyed it.”

The boys' teacher, Mrs Claire Spencer-Jones, said: "I am really proud of our pupils and pleased that all their hard work has been rewarded.  I hope seeing their work in print will help inspire their creative writing further."

Each pupil received a Staedtler pen and a Young Writers' certificate.  Approximately 60% of all entries to the competition will be published when the book goes to print on 31 May 2008.
